Are you seeking a MLM opportunity to start for your home based business?
A great MLM, AKA Multi-level Marketing or Network Marketing, opportunity is to work from home.
A home based business can give you the income and the freedom you are looking for and deserve. You can do the things that YOU want to do: be there for your children, cook dinner… and still work a few hours before bed. A home based, work at home business opportunity can be great. But you need to carefully select the one that is best suited for you.
Technology has improved the relationships with network marketers, customer and commissions can be utilized in ways not possible before. This all began in the 1950’s with household products, nutritional supplements and cosmetic. MLM opportunities gained momentum in the 1980’s with long distance telecommunications companies and insurance. Technology helped improved the MLM, network marketing industry.
The network marketing, MLM industry has expanded into medical services, credit cards, pre-paid legal, and travel. The MLM industry can adapt as technology evolves.
The combination of salesmanship and technology make MLM, network marketing, popular for everyone. Income can be made from the sales of the people you recruit into the business, the people they recruit into the business and those they recruit… and so on and so on.
Generally there is not any overhead if you work from home. Traditionally advertising is done by word of mouth. Many times there is not inventory or no collections. The product is normally drop shipped to the customer as well. Network Marketing has received a bad reputation in the past because of the media, but there are many companies that are legal and very successful.
When looking for a Multi-Level Marketing business opportunity, look for one that has been in business for many years because many of the scams are fly by night businesses.
This doesn’t necessarily mean that you should avoid start-ups or your companies. However, you should be carefully before you take the leap. Make sure they have a good training system, products that have been tested and a fair compensation plan.
Network marketing, home based business, have three qualities; control of money and time, residual income and growth that multiplies. By controlling your time, you can reap from your efforts.
When you are looking at different MLM opportunities you need to consider yourself first. Find business opportunities that fit your interest. Find product or server that you are passionate about. Remember, this will be a product you will need to represent. You will need to be excited about the product or service when speaking to people about it.
MLM, home based business opportunities are not get rich quick schemes. They are just not! If the business sounds too go to be true, it is. There are many good companies that offer you a true business opportunity from home.

Building Loyalty: 6 Handwritten Notes You Should Be Writing To Attract & Retain New Clients
A friend of mine that owns three restaurants simply sat down and handwrote a post card to his customer list inviting them to join his rewards program and he had a 20% sign up off that mailing. During the previous 6 months, he distributed two other post card mailings, without the handwritten message, and never had more than a 5% response rate.
What made the difference?
This time he used cheapest and most effective loyalty building and customer retention tool in existence, a tool that is largely ignored because it is boring to the marketer. However, it is so exciting to the customer that it completely drowns out all other marketing messages it competes with. This powerful tool that nobody uses is a personal touch.
“Oh, it’s just that,” you say. “I thought he was going to talk about some new idea or technology that would magically attract and retain clients for me. Personal touch, blah, blah, blah.”
Gotcha! I’m sorry to tell you, but there is no magic pill for attracting and retaining clients. It takes work – work that many businesses today fail to invest in. They don’t spend time to write a personalized handwritten note or make a personal phone call because that kind of stuff is boring. It takes too long. Taking the time to sit down and think of what you want to write, find a nice card, actually write the note, stuff it into an envelope, put a stamp on it and mail it. Are you kidding? Why not send an email, it’s so much easier!
When trying to create loyalty and build customer retention, easier is not always better!
What catches my eye about a service provider is not the easy things they do, but the things I perceive as they’re going out of their way to do for me.
After receiving cost hikes and poor service from my local cable service for years, I had come to detest them to the core. I would have sworn my prejudice was so ingrained it would be impossible for them to overcome. Yet, I melted with just one personal gesture on their part.
My cable box went out. The company sent someone over two days later and replaced the box. Not great, but OK. The very next day, I received a handwritten note by the cable guy…yeah! The cable guy! He thanked me for being a customer in his own handwriting. I immediately thought, if a guy that doesn’t get paid the big bucks at the company would still take the time to send me a handwritten note the day after he performed a service for me, then that’s a company I like doing business with.
Here Are My Top 6 Loyalty Building Handwritten Notes You Should Be Writing To Attract & Retain New Clients:
1. Always have a stack of “Thank You” notes on your desk. -- Write at least one a day for anything or anyone that strikes your fancy. Just get it written and in the mail. You would be surprised how writing a thank you note to a clerk that helped you in a store can sometimes work its way back to you in very strange and positive ways.
2. Have an idea that people need to know about? – Send out a handful of notes asking people to lunch or breakfast to run an idea by them. 10 of these a month and your sales will go through the roof
3. Birthday and holiday cards – need is say more? And don’t send a lousy pre-printed one or a card with just a signature. That is a slap in the face. Take the time to write a brief message, then and only then, sign it.
4. Attach a note to an article that you read – nothing makes a person feel more important than when you send an article to them about an interest of theirs with a personal note attached. People work with people that do the little things.
5. Haven’t seen you in a while – sending a note to check-in with someone can result in business you never dreamed of
6. Send something to make them smile – a joke, a funny news story or personal account. This will change your whole relationship to that of a friend and people buy from friends.
Writing a note is one of the simplest, easiest and most cost effective ways to build loyalty and retain clients, yet it is the most under utilized marketing tool in business today. Pick up a pen. Write a note and watch the magic begin.

What Is Wrong With MLM?
Copyright (c) 2007 Bruce Seah
What is wrong with MLM? There are so much negativity and it is very obvious the industry has been hurt by many companies that practised front-loading schemes or money games by getting members to buy 10 to 30 profit centres, or disguise themselves as a network marketing company when they are offering a pyramid scheme or those with leader's compensation plan where less than 3% make money and over 97% ask "Where's the money?"
So the truth is there is nothing wrong with MLM, it is the abuse, misconception and misrepresentation of it.
If you are a newbie or a seasoned network marketer or MLMer, you will definitely agree with what I am sharing with you here, the fundamentals and basics of what makes a good MLM business. "Integrity is the essence of everything" - Buckminster Fuller. You got to ask yourself is there integrity in the management, the products or services, the compensation plan and the support system, if your answer is a resounding YES! for all of them, you have a good MLM opportunity in your hands.
Network marketing is the same as Multi-Level Marketing (MLM), so I will freely use these terms and for the record MLM is the old name and network marketing is the new name! MLM is a wonderful business based on universal laws and have stood the test of time that it works, You just got to do your due diligence and join the right company that has integriy in these areas which are worth repeating here:
Management - people with integrity who practise what they preach and deliver what they promise.
Products and Services - give great value and quality and truly benefit the people and have stood the test of time.
Compensation Plan - a simple, duplicatable and profitable compensation plan where 97% of the members who are part-timers and smart consumers can easily earn a decent income with decent commitment of time, money and effort.
Support System - a simple and duplicatable support system online and offline where members can use it to grow their business.
MLM like any other businesses takes commitment of time, money and effort and for those who work the business, the business will work for them, it is as simple as that. I speak from 13 years of MLM experience and I am so passionate about it that I've written 10 books on it!
What's wrong with sharing a great product that will make a positive differece to millions of lives worldwide? What's wrong with making decent money from caring and sharing? What's wrong with working smart and leveraging on an organisation with thousands of people? What's wrong with people helping people to build a simple, duplicatable and profitable home-based business?
Here's a simple example, you promote a health supplement that will benefit people greatly and you simply consume it and share it with your loved ones, relatives and friends. Your monthly operation cost is only US$30 a month, that small amount is not going to stressed you out, isn't it?
What business do you know that allows you to operate for only US$30 a month? You simply go on an auto-ship plan and just consume your US$30 a month of this health supplement and start sharing this simple opportunity! Imagine, in two to three years you build a group with 1,000 members, each consuming US$30 a month and this way you will create a US$30,000 group sales volume. The company will happily reward you with a 5% commission for your US$30,000 group sales volume and you will receive US$1,500 a month for your efforts in building the business, what's wrong with that? Did you hurt anybody along the way? In fact you would have helped thousands of people to improve their health and helped them earn a few hundred dollars a month to supplement their income!
My definition of MLM: "A simple, duplicatable and profitable home-based business without the headaches and heartaches of a conventional business."
